This policy describes how CarSalePro processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The controller responsible for data processing is CarSalePro LLC, 1023 E Lincolnway, Cheyenne, WY 82001, United States. Contact: support@carsalepro.net.
We process the following categories of personal data:
The CarSalePro app for professional vehicle inspection is covered by this policy in addition to the sections above. It works offline-first and differs from the website in one important way: it has no user accounts.
Processing is carried out for the performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), for compliance with legal obligations (lit. c), and on the basis of legitimate interests (lit. f). Analytics cookies are only set with consent (lit. a).
Report photos are retained in line with our retention policy for traceability. KYC documents are purged 90 days after the check is completed. Account data is stored until the account is deleted. You may request erasure at any time, unless a statutory retention obligation applies.
Inspectors provide their own identity and trade documents. We collect and store them so that there is a record of who an inspector states they are, and so that record can be produced if a dispute or a competent authority requires it. They are kept for the period stated above and then deleted.
We do not authenticate these documents and we do not establish that the details in them are true. Nothing on the platform should be read as a statement by us that an inspector's identity or qualification has been checked, and we accept no responsibility for the accuracy or completeness of what an inspector has stated about themselves. That responsibility rests with the inspector who supplied it.
An inspection report can contain photographs of the vehicle registration document, because the vehicle data in the report is read off it. Those pages usually name the registered keeper and the address. They are shown wherever the report is shown, and that includes the public advert page of the vehicle, where anyone can open them without signing in. Before the report is finished, the inspector is asked in the app to cover any data that must stay private, using the photo editor, which writes the covering into the photograph itself. We do not examine what a photograph shows and we do not remove data from it.
